The Welsh Viking
After his father’s death, Gareth rushes home from San Francisco to the Welsh village he once left behind, hauling a long, narrow cardboard package across oceans and time zones. He arrives too late to say goodbye, a regret that settles heavily on him.
Officially, he’s come to help his sister, Suzy, with the modest cremation planned at the Swansea Crematorium—a simple service for close friends and family. Unofficially, Gareth has something very different in mind. His father was no ordinary man: raised in a cramped two-up, two-down terrace with an outdoor toilet, he grew into a lifelong adventurer, a true man of the sea. A standard funeral won’t do. Gareth is determined to give him a send-off worthy of the Viking spirit that shaped him—whether anyone else is ready for it or not.
